Scope of SPPM2018

The conference provides a forum for discussion on topics of current interest and significance on the areas of structure, processing and
properties of materials. Contributions are invited on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to the following:
  • Casting and solidification processing
  • Solid state transformations, crystal defects
  • Deformation, super-plasticity, fracture and failure
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous materials production, processing and fabrication
  • Ceramics and glasses, ceramics matrix composites, optical glasses and fibres
  • Polymer processing; polymer-matrix composites
  • Metal-matrix composites, heat treatment and fabrication
  • Bio-materials and applications
  • Semiconductors, electronic and magnetic materials; micro-electronic fabrication; magnetic recording and sensors
  • Nano-structured materials and nano-technology
  • Welding and solid-state joining processes; testing and quality assurance

The conference will be held at BUET, situated at the heart of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Dhaka was founded in 1608 AD
as the seat of Mughal Viceroy of Bengal. It has a colourful ambience with unique blends of both traditional and modern life.

Call for Abstract

Prospective authors are invited to submit extended abstracts in electronic format as e-mail attachment to the following address: sppm2018 The abstract should not exceed 350 words in length and should clearly define the work and contain brief methodology and principal results. The official language for the conference is English. Please consult the Guideline for Abstract Submission for preparing your abstract.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be expected to submit a full written paper as Microsoft Word document and to attend the conference to present the work. Authors of accepted papers should submit camera-ready manuscript following the Guideline for Manuscript Submission. Papers not following these guidelines shall be rejected. All author should send their papers as e-mail attachment to the address: sppm2018


Abstracts of all accepted papers will be published in the paper book Proceedings of the conference and the full papers will be published in electronic (CD) version of the Proceedings. A selection of papers (based on the reviewers’ scores) presented at the conference will be published in a CPCI-S (Thomson Reuters, Web of Science) or Compendex or Scopus indexed reputed journal. For such publication additional fee may be charged. Further details will be made available at a later stage.

Deadline for Full Manuscript Submission:    30 November 2017   31 December 2017
Notification of final acceptance:    15 January 2017
